FLORA

When I was a little girl, I imagined that Flora and Fauna are two fairies sisters and they have a control over the nature.

Flora is the flower fairy, which brings the spring, lots of flowers, nice smell, green trees and blooming meadows.

This also belongs to my childhood and can’t be missed it in my Waterland.

I have to admit, so far this was probably my most challenging costume ever. Not only to prepare it, but also figure out how to make it work underwater and with her head down. I dreamed that Flora is watering the small garden in the middle of the sea. You can create it only if everything is in the water upside down. This way you create the effect that she is above the sea.

Sewing costume and floral headpiece was actually not so much the sewing, rather than gluing it with the hot glue gun. Lot of my burned fingers ☹. It was really hours and hours of work. To the last detail.

This photo is especially for my mom. Always (well what I can remember), she loves the garden and flowers. She is exactly the type of person, what we call in Czech „green hands“, in her hands bloom everything. In our garden and in our greenhouse were completely all types of flowers. We hated to watering it, it took almost one and a half hour. Starting from the flowers, she become now bonsai trees pro. And watering bonsai is perhaps even worse ☺.

Before I did not understood it, today I love to plant flowers in my small garden and watch them bloom.

So the preparation for the photo shoot lasted nearly a month, everything I hand made by myself. When I considered the model for Flora, the only one person I know and came into my mind was the Barbora. No one else can pose upside down, stay there for a while, hold breath and let the water completely splash into her nose cavity and still look nice.

And what's more, she doesn’t mind it and still enjoy it. This is perhaps the most challenging what can a model under water experience.

The photo shoot was going great, Zdenka and David, who assisted, did a huge piece of work, had to push Borbora down and help her turn upside down. With this costume she was not able to do it alone, especially with the big flower head piece, which lifted her constantly back to the surface. Denis and Dominik assisted with the lighting.

As soon as we finished with the shooting, we had to start cleaning up the bottom of the pool (eight meters), there was a large amount of petals after the shooting. All the team began to freedive to eight meters, and pick up all small leaves and petals. Including Barbora, who in the meantime took her costume off.

When I emerged, I saw Barbora, people were pulling her from the pool. And the blood was all over her face. We immediately lay her down and called the lifeguard and then an ambulance. In the diving pit is unfortunately in the four meter placed a stainless steel big plate, which is sharp. Lot of people cut the hand or knee already there. But this time it was worse.

Barbora forgot, that the plate is there and she turned in 8 meter around, back to the surface, with full speed, her head fell directly under the plate and this sharp piece cut about 6 centimeter long wound on her head. Thanks god that Barbora is very strong girl, otherwise I don't know how it all will turn out. We were all so afraid. The only one who was all the time cool and OK was Barbora. She was convincing us all the time that everything is OK.

So in the end: 4 stitches on her head. Fortunately x-rays showed no concussion. I have to say that I was incredibly relieved. Till later afternoon, when Barbora called me on the road from the hospital back home, that everything will be OK, I have to admit that I was really, really nervous. Next 3 days I wasn't able to look the photos or download them from the camera at all. You just realizes how fast and unexpected can something happen.

These photos of the Flora will be forever connected with Barbora four stitches on her head. I'm incredibly happy that she is doing well!

FLORA

Když jsem byla malá holčička, představovala jsem si Floru a Faunu jako dvě sestry víly, které ovládají přírodu.

Flora, květinová víla, která přináší jaro, spousty květů a vůní, zelené stromy a rozkvetlé louky.

Patří do mého dětství a nemůže chybět ani v mé vodní říši.

Musím říct, že toto byl doposud asi můj nejnáročnější kostým.

Nejenom na přípravu, ale i vymyslet jak to udělat, aby to vydrželo ve vodě a ještě navíc hlavou dolů.

Chtěla jsem, aby Flora na fotce zalévala svoji zahrádku uprostřed moře. To se dá provézt jedině tak, že je všechno ve vodě vzhůru nohama, aby vznikl efekt, že poletuje nad mořem.

Šití kostýmu a květinové hlavy nebylo vlastně ani tak šití, jako spíše lepení tavnou pistolí.

Takže spousta popálených prstů.

Byly to opravdu hodiny a hodiny práce. Do posledních detailů.

Tahle fotka je hlavně pro moji mámu. Od jakživa (teda co já pamatuju), miluje zahradu a kytky. Je přesně ten typ člověka o kterém se říká, že má „zelené ruce“, rozkvete pod nimi cokoliv. Na zahradě a ve skleníku pěstovala snad úplně všechny typy květin. Nesnášeli jsme to zalévat, zabralo to denně skoro jednu a půl hodiny. Z květin postupně přešla na bonsaje a to je zalévat snad ještě horší .

Dřív jsem to nechápala, dnes miluji sadit kytky a dívat se jak kvetou.

Takže příprava na focení trvala skoro měsíc, všechno jsem si vyráběla ručně sama.

Když jsem zvažovala modelku na Floru, tak jediný koho znám a přicházel do úvahy byla Bára. Nikdo jiný nedokáže pózovat hlavou dolů, udržet se tam, vydržet s dechem a nechat si totálně propláchnout dutiny a ještě se tvářit hezky.

A co víc, Báře to nevadí a ještě jí to baví. Je to snad nejnáročnější co může modelka pod vodou zažít.

Focení probíhalo skvěle, Zdenka a David, kteří asistovali, udělali obrovský kus práce, museli stáhnout Báru dolů a pomoct jí se otočit. Sama by to v tom kostýmu nezvládla, obzvláště s tím, co měla na hlavě, neustále jí to vynášelo na hladinu. Denis a Dominik pomáhali s osvětlováním scény.

Jakmile jsme dofotili, museli jsme začít uklízet bazén, jelikož jsme měli na dně (v osmi metrech) napadané velké množství okvětních lístků. Všichni se začali na nádech potápět do osmi metrů a vytahovat malé lístečky, včetně Báry, která se mezitím vysvlékla z kostýmu. Vynořila jsem se a naráz vidím, že vytahují Báru z vody a z hlavy jí teče krev přes celý obličej. Okamžitě jsme ji položili a volali plavčíka a pak záchranku. V potápěčské jámě je bohužel, záměrně píšu bohužel, ve čtyřech metrech nešťastně umístěné nerezové plato, které je ostré jako břitva. Už si tam spousta lidí pořezalo ruku či koleno. Jenže tentokrát to bylo horší. Bára úplně zapomněla, že to plato tam je. Jak se dole otočila, zabrala do ploutví a nabrala rychlost směr na hladinu, hlavou naletěla přímo na plato. To jí rozseklo hlavu.

Ještě, že není Barča křehotinka, jinak nevím, jak by to celé dopadlo. My jsme byli všichni vyplašení. Jediný, kdo byl parodoxně celou dobu v pohodě, byla Barča. Všechny nás uklidňovala, že je to dobrý.

Takže nakonec 4 stehy na hlavě. Naštěstí rentgen nepotvrdil žádný otřes mozku.

Musím říct, že se mi neuvěřitelně ulevilo. Dokud mi Barča nezavolala po cestě z nemocnice, že bude vše OK, musím přiznat, že jsem byla pořádně nervózní.

3 dny jsem nebyla schopna se na ty fotky ani podívat, ani je stáhnout z foťáku. Člověk si uvědomí, kolik málo stačí na to, aby se něco stalo.

Tyhle fotky Flory budou navždy spjaty s Bářinými čtyřmi stehy na hlavě. Jsem neskutečně šťastná, že to dobře dopadlo!

Díky moc celému týmu za asistenci a Báře za to, že, i přes ty 4 stehy, má se mnou chuť dál fotit pod vodou.
