Queen of the fairies Mab and the gate to the Waterland

I don't know exactly where to start. This photo has a very long journey. I guess that the longest ever, and I hope that no other image won't take me that long. Trouble was surprisingly dress. I made three, till it was properly done. The first option I prepared already in the year 2016, in Miami. My vision was a dress from the thousands of tiny little pieces of white garbage bags. All white and plastic, from what I found. It was lot of work. Couple weeks of manual embroidery of the corset, but the result was great. Dress whispered in the wind, floating like a feather. Just beautiful. I finished it before the departure to the Czech republic, with the fact that the first scene of the shoot will be in Prague.

In the Czech I started to work on the background. Mysterious forest with a gate, which leads into the Waterland. I went to the woods and took pictures of the trees and the little things and then at home on the computer I created my idea of the mysterious, magical forest with a gate, from which only the fairy queen Mab own the golden key and only she can unlock the door and let you dive inside. I printed the final picture of the forest on a huge banner, to cover the pool.

Then came THE DAY. We were together with my friends running around the pool for five hours, fixed the banner/background, as it was in the rolls and parts. In addition, I prepared the model, make-up and scene. After five hours, totally exhausted, we were ready to jump into the water for the shooting. Plan was to make one final picture. Model dived under the surface and Whoops, in that moment, there was a big problem that I didn't count with it at all. The dress didn't sink, plastic pieces floated constantly to the surface. It looked like the dress is closing the model, as closed tulip and she was inside. I couldn't do anything with it. I admit that the first time I cried in a diving mask. Months of work, how many people at the pool, so many hours of work and I have to say that it's over and we go home.

Attempt number 2: this time I decided to prepare the dress from chiffon. The procedure was almost the same, thousands of little strips and I sewed and sewed. Unfortunately, then came the next catch. When I shaked the dress, a large amount of thread appeared around . It was clear to me that this can't go into the pool. I will totally pollute the pool and it could get into the filter and I think it will be my last time in this pool. This time it went without crying. I was thinking to myself: Okay, so, I had to try to sew just a bit and then try and go from there and then decided. The search for the ideal material took a time, until I was in Ikea and find the curtain. I sewed a piece of it and it worked! I could cut small pieces, nothing fray, no threads. And moreover, it floated so nice. So finally it was clear, from which fabric will be the dress.

Then unfortunately came the year 2017 and with it also an unexpected divorce, and I was not able to create the entire year , and especially not this personal project. A year has passed till I decided to start doing something for myself and from myself.

And I owe it all to my dear friends. Cristine, that kicked me in the ass and very clearly told me, whether I can finally stop looking for excuses and Ivana, who was there for me, incredibly supportive. Without her, I couldn't even realize this project. I will never forget you this, my girls!

Well, everything bad is good for something, so attempt number 3. I made it to the last detail. I ordered a box of green ivies, grasses, ferns and we sticked it on a background and created a 3D effect. It was breathtaking.

Instead of flowers I created new crown from silver beads and plastic glass. I gave this photoshoot to myself for my birthday. Maybe it really was worth it, to wait until the third attempt. This time it was IT. Once I saw under water the final scene, my heart was filled with a joy and the feeling that I'm back, and I have a strong desire to create this project. Královna víl Mab a brána do Vodní říše Nevím přesně kde začít. Tato fotka má za sebou velmi dlouhou cestu. Řekla bych, že asi vůbec nejdelší, a tak pevně doufám, že žádná jiná tak dlouho trvat nebude. Zádrhelem byly kupodivu šaty. Šila jsem totiž tři, než to bylo správně. První variantu jsem chystala již v roce 2016, ještě v Miami. Mojí vizí byly šaty z tisíce malinkatých kousků bílých odpadkových sáčků nebo pytlů. Vše bílé a igelitové, z toho, co jsem našla. Byla to titěrná práce. Několik týdnů ručního vyšívání korzetu, ale výsledek byl skvělý. Šaty šustily ve větru, poletovaly jako peříčko. Prostě nádhera.

Došila jsem je před odjezdem do ČR, s tím, že tu první scénu nafotím až v Praze. V Čechách jsem pak začala tvořit pozadí. Tajemný les s branou, která vede do Vodní říše. Chodila jsem po lese a fotila stromy i drobnosti a pak doma na počítači vytvořila moji představu tajemného, kouzelného lesa s branou, od níž má královna víl Mab zlatý klíč a jen ona může odemknout a vpustit dovnitř. Fotku lesa jsem nechala vytisknout na obrovskou plachtu, kterou se měl pokrýt bazén. Pak nastal den D. Pět hodin jsme spolu s přáteli poskakovali po bazénu a slepovali dohromady gigantickou plachtu, jelikož byla v rolích a po částech. Do toho jsem líčila modelku a zároveň připravovala kompletní scénu. Po pěti hodinách, totálně zmoženi, přišlo na řadu samotné focení. Měla se udělat jedna finální fotka. Modelka se zanořila a ouvej, v ten moment nastal problém, se kterým jsem vůbec nepočítala. Šaty nešly zanořit, igelitové kousíčky plavaly neustále k hladině. Vypadalo to tak, že šaty zavřely modelku, jako když se zavře tulipán a ona byla uvnitř. Nešlo s tím nic dělat. Přiznám se, že jsem poprvé brečela do potápěčské masky. Měsíce práce, kolik lidí to na bazénu připravovalo, tolik hodin práce a já jim musela sdělit, že je konec a jdeme domu. Pokus číslo 2: Tentokrát jsme se rozhodla je ušít z šifónu. Postup úplně stejný, nastříhala jsem tisíce malých proužků a šila a šila. Bohužel pak přišel další zádrhel. Při zatřepání šaty pouštěly velké množství chloupků-nití. Nemělo to konce, každý pohyb znamenal třepení látky. Bylo mi jasné, že tohle nemůžu vzít do bazénu. Totálně bych ho tím znečistila a mohlo by se to dostat do trysek a myslím, že by mě tam již nikdy nenechali fotit. Tentokrát se to obešlo bez pláče. Hlavou mi proběhlo: Dobře mi tak, měla jsem zkusit ušít jen kousek a ten pak vyzkoušet a podle toho se zařídit. Hledání ideálního materiálu trvalo dlouho, dokud jsem v Ikea nenarazila na záclonu. Ušila jsem z toho kousek a ejhle, super to fungovalo! Mohla jsem stříhat malé kousky, nic se netřepilo, a navíc se to hezky vznášelo. Takže konečně bylo jasné, z čeho budou šaty do třetice. Pak bohužel nastal rok 2017 a s ním nečekaný rozvod a já pak následně celý rok nebyla schopna pořádné tvorby a už vůbec ne pokračování na tomto projektu. Uběhl rok, než šlo začít dělat něco pro sebe a ze sebe. A za to vděčím hlavně Cristine, které mě nakopla do zadku a natvrdo mi vpálila, ať už konečně přestanu hledat výmluvy a Ivaně, která při mně stála a neskutečně mě podpořila. Bez ní bych tohle nemohla vůbec realizovat. Nikdy Vám to holky nezapomenu! No a všechno zlé je pro něco dobré, takže pokus číslo 3 jsem dotáhla do úplných detailů. Objednala jsem krabice zelených břečťanů, trávy, kapradí a nalepili jsme to na plachtu a vytvořili tak 3D efekt. Bylo to úchvatné. Místo věnce květů jsem ze stříbrných korálků a sklíček vytvořila korunku. Focení jsem si nadělila k mým narozeninám. Možná to vážně stálo za to, počkat až na třetí pokus. Tentokrát to bylo ONO. Jakmile jsem pod vodou viděla tuhle scénu, naplnil mě pocit, že jsem zpět a mám strašnou chuť vytvořit tento projekt. Doufám, že se Vám moje Mab a čarovný les líbí stejně jako mě.
